We also maintain a "Goodwill Wish List" of in-kind items needed by our programs and services. Among the items we've identified are:

*flashdrives for this same client base

* stackable chairs and meeting tables for workshops, community meetings and service provision in Carroll County

* restaurant and store gift certificates to use as recognition gifts for clients and employees

When you donate to Goodwill®, you are giving back to your community by supporting programs and services integral to the well-being and advancement of clients and their families who face challenges to employment.

Among the program needs for monetary, volunteer, and in-kind support are:

  • Computer class and general job training – instructors, scholarships, “job shadowing” opportunities for clients.
  • DDA (Developmental Disabilities) services – field trip support, supplies and materials.
  • Party food and giveaway items for our Adult Basic Education graduation party the end of May
  • Computer graphics design and marketing support services

Corporate Donations
We welcome company donations of any retail goods or store fixtures / equipment. Based on the donation amount, we can assist with transportation. For more information contact Wayne Hatcher, Director of Retail Operation at 301.662.0622 ext. 206.

Monetary Donations
In addition to usable household goods, clothing, vehicles, property, etc., which all require processing and resale, Goodwill® Industries of Monocacy Valley, Inc. relies upon direct monetary donations to provide its services to the Frederick and Carroll County communities.

Contributions to Goodwill® Industries of Monocacy Valley, Inc. can be made online through the Goodwill® Industries International website.  Select “I would like to donate to Goodwill® in a local community”, then complete the search boxes to find Goodwill® Industries of Monocacy Valley Inc. (You can search by name and just type ‘Monocacy’ into the search box to fund us, or search by the state of Maryland.)

Vehicle Donations
Goodwill® accepts donations of cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles, RV’s, or other motor vehicle, regardless of condition.  The vehicle may be donated at two locations:

If you would prefer to have the vehicle, boat, etc. picked up or the vehicle is not operable, call our Corporate Office 301.662.0622 ext 208. The donor must provide the vehicle’s title and any of the following proof of ownership that may apply: lien release, power of attorney, etc.

Your vehicle donation is 100% tax deductible; however, the deduction is limited to the amount Goodwill® actually receives by selling the vehicle at auction.  Goodwill® is required to provide written acknowledgement of the gift to both the donor and the Internal Revenue Service. Usable Goods Donation
You may drop off your items at any of our locations during operating hours. Click here to link to the IRS website to determine the estimated value of your donation for tax purposes.  Goodwill® will provide receipt at any time of donation stating we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization through our automated donation kiosk.

Unacceptable Items
Goodwill® makes every effort to generate resources from donated items.  However, there are a few items we can not accept as donations because of the cost to dispose of them properly. These include:

  • Broken, torn, stained, odorous furniture
  • Hazardous material
  • Framing supplies
  • Broken appliances

Donation Pickups
Goodwill® makes every effort to generate resources from donated items and because of increased transportation costs we are no longer able to pick up and generate resources from this service.  Thank you for dropping off your donations at any Goodwill® retail location.
