Volunteers make a difference at Goodwill®!

Volunteers play a crucial role here at Goodwill® - whether working in our computer labs helping new students, collecting donations for our retail stores at special donations drives, even helping us sponsor and promote graduations for our client groups – they make a real difference at our nonprofit organization.

We recognize volunteerism as a valuable resource, and encourage those in our communities to volunteer in capacities that fit their skills, interests, schedules and goals.  Among the areas of our operations that need volunteer support are:

  • Donations drive greeters at Frederick Keys games - next one - August 28, 2010
  • Computer class instructors and support
  • Volunteer photographers and marketing support
  • Resume writing class support - M & W - 1-4 p.m.
  • Training and serving as TV production staff for our broadcast in Carroll County

Please call Elissa Gross, Director of Marketing/Development at 301-662-0622 ext. 216 or e-mail her at egross@gimv.org for possible placement.

At this time, we are partnering with local organizations, businesses and membership associations to co-sponsor material donations drives for our retail operations - an excellent way to "give back" to your local community by enabling us to turn these donated items into revenues to support our programs.

We are also looking for locations in our two-county area in which to place material donations bins to collect goods for our retail operations. This is a GREAT way to support Goodwill while also providing convenient sites for donation drop-off.

If your civic club, scout troop, membership organization would like to join our Goodwill in this effort, please let us know - we can help you market your local donations drive for this worthy cause.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Goodwill®!
