Goodwill’s newest Retail Store and Donation Center off MD Route 194 has opened its doors at 8425 Woodsboro Pike. The official grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, December 8th and Goodwill invites the community to join in celebration.
The new store will offer the community over 12,500 square feet of retail space to shop for high value furniture, books, household items and clothing for the entire family.
The new Walkersville location’s proximity to local businesses and residential neighborhoods will make it convenient to shop and donate. Following Goodwill’s new model, the store will feature a drive-up donation center to further simplify the donation process in the back of the building and let Goodwill donors complete the process quickly and easily. Goodwill accepts gently used clothing, household items, furniture, small appliances and computers of any brand or condition.
“We welcome our continued growth in Frederick, as we know that every new store ultimately means more jobs and more opportunities for members of the community,” stated Kurtenbach.During 2011, Goodwill of Monocacy Valley served 2,169 individuals in Frederick and Carroll Counties and placed 141 individuals into community employment.
