For that reason, our Retail team members are the backbone of our organization. With more than 100 stores (and more coming soon!), we are always on the lookout for customer-service oriented people who enjoy being part of a team, and are looking to build a meaningful career in retail.
We’re always looking for passionate people to lead our retail stores. For candidates interested in becoming Customer Service Managers, Assistant Store Managers or Store Managers, we offer an extensive training program to build managerial skills and learn our unique business. This program is ideal for driven and motivated applicants who care about developing people.
The Warehouse and Transportation department plays a crucial role in Goodwill’s retail and recycling initiatives. It provides transportation services to all of our retail stores and donation centers, delivering product to stores and transporting processed merchandise and recyclable materials to our Retail Operations Center.
The Warehouse team processes items that are being recycled from our stores and sold to salvage vendors. This department includes roles such as salvage grading, dock helper, and forklift, baler, and tipper operator and more.
The Transportation team operates all warehouse vehicles to pick up, transport and/or deliver donated goods. Members within this department are responsible for coordination of transportation, storage or distribution of donated merchandise for Goodwill.
The E-Commerce team works together to list and process specific items that will be sold on shopgoodwill.com. They largely price jewelry and other unique items, pulling orders from shelves or staging areas and generate packing and postage labels for sold items.
A spirit of exceptional service prevails throughout this department which plays a key role in our daily operational activities. Team members provide administrative support to Goodwill staff and board members, demonstrate the highest level of customer service,and perform invaluable professional duties on behalf of Goodwill’s operational and support teams.
The Asset Protection team is responsible for ensuring the safety, security and protection of the organization and its assets. Members of the Asset Protection team lead by example and take a proactive approach to preventing and limiting loss. Goodwill considers its people to be its most important asset and team members play an instrumental role in creating a culture of asset protection that extends throughout the organization.
The Real Estate team focuses on the development of commercial properties including current and future retail locations. Their goal is to offer Goodwill customers and donors a modern, clean and professional retail experience—starting with a welcoming exterior. Real estate operations place an emphasis on productivity, efficiency and respect for our community partners, neighbors, and customers.
The Philanthropy team oversees Goodwill’s philanthropic and economic development programs. This department is involved with numerous activities aimed at strengthening Goodwill’s impact on the community and plays a key role in developing the partnerships and strategic initiatives that enable Goodwill to fulfill its mission to end poverty through the power of work.
The Finance team oversees all of Goodwill’s accounting, budgeting and payroll functions and is responsible for maintaining superior standards of accounting and reporting. Operating as a support team, the finance department is committed to putting Goodwill’s operational teams in the best position to work toward ending poverty through the power of work.
The Human Resources team provides comprehensive employee support services to more than 3,800 Goodwill employees. The team oversees benefits, administration, recruitment and hiring, leads employee training programs and is responsible for numerous activities aimed at creating an internal culture in which all employees are supported and empowered to succeed.
The Learning and Development team develops and facilitates customized learning solutions for existing and new leadership development programs, builds training plans and assessments and develops highly-interactive and engaging blended learning solutions with expert knowledge in the principles of adult learning.
The Enrichment team keeps an internal focus on the growth and success of Goodwill team members. The program includes all aspects of career enrichment including benefits, training and general support services. Team Enrichment provides all team members the dedicated resources of “GoodStart,” “GoodStuff” and “GoodSteps” to actively create self-sufficiency and a path to a better career.
The Information Technology team keeps all of Goodwill’s departments connected, while supporting multiple complex data management systems and operating networks that process more than five million retail transactions each year. Goodwill’s IT department functions as a support team. Members of this team respond to technology support requests from all departments and develop and implement innovative solutions crucial to the success of the organization.
The Marketing and Communications team oversees the organization’s internal and external communications, advertising, marketing, public relations and social media. Marketing functions as a support team, and a spirit of exceptional service prevails throughout the department. New team members will find themselves immediately welcomed and fully integrated into a culture that values teamwork, rewards hard work, and celebrates the successes that we help the operational departments achieve.
The Facilities and Construction department delivers high-quality, competitively-priced commercial business services for Goodwill. Our diversified teams work within our interior services or exterior services division to provide the highest level of commercial maintenance.
The Facilities team provides janitorial and interior services including floor care, spot painting, drywall repair, simple plumbing, light bulb replacement, sign installation,and more for Goodwill buildings. Members are also responsible for more complex duties such as electrical wiring and switches, installation of interior walls, sinks, toilets, vanities, masonry skill, as well as carpet and tile installation.
The Construction team provides overall building maintenance for all Goodwill locations. Members in this department are responsible for window washing, updating and remodeling current stores, and preparing new stores for grand openings.
Our Career Services team works directly with job seekers at our no-cost career centers in Arizona and Maryland. This team helps members of our community gain the skills and resources to find meaningful employment through the delivery of one-on-one coaching, resume development, digital skills training and more.
The Community Engagement team works to build relationships with community organizations and builds awareness of the services and solutions we offer. This team will often work with other organizations to provide a wide array of services to our job seekers such as housing, food and transportation. These relationships are vital to better serving our communities.
Our Employer Engagement team builds long-term strategic relationships with employers to enhance employer productivity and profitability. They host a variety of hiring events and job fairs to connect quality employers with ready-to-hire candidates. This team is an essential part of connecting our job seekers to meaningful employment
